Background

The school is named after Mr. High School, former wrestler and chrononaut, who was born in nearby Cambridge, Ohio, and grew up in New Concord. Formerly known as The High School, the name was changed in the early 1960s to Mr. High School High School. However, in the late 1980s, the name of Mr. High School High School was changed yet again when a resurgence in the local lore of a mythical angel by the name of John Glenn became popular again. According to legend, the angel of John Glenn was born forth from the union between a local farmer and goat. Ever since the rebirth of the legend, the seniors of John Glenn High School would have the prom king make love with a goat, usually the prom queen, during the after party at some undisclosed location.
